Washington State Cougars: 14Auburn Tigers: 40 The Washington State Cougars traveled south to play the Auburn Tigers at Jordan-Hare Stadium on Saturday, September 2nd, 2006 at 7:45 PM EST. The Cougars were trounced by the Tigers. Running back Kenny Irons ran for 183 yards on 21 attempts and scored 1 touchdown in the win. Irons also caught 3 passes for 38 yards receiving in the win by Auburn. John Vaughn was on fire the entire game and was 4 for 4 on the night hitting two field goals from 31 yards and one from 44 and 52 yards. Washington State plays Idaho on September 9th, 2006 and then meets up with Baylor on September 16th. Both non conference games are at home. Auburn rolls into Starkville on September 9th, 2006 to meet up with Mississippi State and then play a tough LSU team at home on September 16th, 2006 in a SEC West battle. Vaughn was able to kick a 44 yard long range field goal a little later. Cougars quarterback Alex Brink threw a 1 yard touchdown pass to Jason Hill. 2nd Quarter: Washington State 7 - Auburn Tigers 19 Vaughn kicked a 31 and 34 yard field goals. Brad Lester scored on a 34 yard touchdown run. 3rd Quarter: Washington State 14 - Auburn Tigers 26 Kenny Iron scored on a 58 yard run for the Tigers. Cody Boyd caught a 50 yard pass from Cougars quarterback Gary Rodgers. 4th Quarter: Washington State 14 - Auburn Tigers 40 Brad Lester rushed 12 yards for a touchdown for Auburn.
