Ball State Cardinals 2006 MAC West Preview
by Thomas Jensen on Saturday, September 2nd, 2006
Injuries and suspensions led to Brady Hoke's Ball State Cardinals starting out 0-3 last season, but they rebounded and went 4-4 in Mid American Conference play, finishing the season on a roll. This year's team boasts a whopping returning 18 starters which was tied for most in the conference. The program under head coack Brady Hoke is now in its fourth year and should start to pay dividends.
The Ball State Cardinals offense is nearly intact with ten returning, giving Brady Hoke his dream offense. Expect it to shine this season and pass the 21 points per game it totaled last year.
Bet on the Ball State Cardinals to win the 2006 Mid American Conference Championship Title here.
The Ball State Cardinals defense is also loaded with veterans and should easily reduce the enormous 38 points per game it gave up in 2005. The front seven has athleticism, experience, and depth and should top last year's numbers.
The Ball State Cardinals face one of the more daunting schedules in the Mid American Conference, but they definitely have seasoned players and could challenge for bowl eligibility.
