The No. 24 Oregon State Beavers (9-4) and Missouri Tigers (8-4) will meet in the Brut Sun Bowl Friday with kickoff at 2 p.m. (EST) from Sun Bowl Stadium in El Paso, Texas. The game will be televised nationally by CBS.
Missouri and Oregon State had bi-polar seasons that ended with similar results. Missouri started out as a team on fire winning its first six games but struggled late winning two of its final six games. The Tigers suffered four tough Big 12 losses in the final month and a half beginning with Texas A&M then losing to Oklahoma at home followed by road losses at Nebraska and a crippling loss at Iowa State, a game where Mizzou was favored by two touchdowns.

Unlike Missouri, Oregon State stumbled out of the gate losing three of its first five games but won seven of its final eight including a shocking upset over No. 3 USC on Nov. 11. The Beavers then capped off its regular season with a win over in-state rival Oregon in the annual “Civil War” game.
The Beavers were led on offense by quarterback Matt Moore as he passed for just under 2,500 yards with an offense that scored 31 touchdowns and averaged over 230 total yards per game. Yvenson Bernard led the ground game as he rushed for 11 touchdowns and more than 1,100 yards during the season.

Missouri ranked near the Top 10 nationally in offensive yardage and passing yardage was led by quarterback Chase Daniel who passed for nearly 3,200 yards and ran for another 393. On the defensive side of the ball, Mizzou allowed just 18 points per game but couldn’t keep anyone below 21 points during the six-game swoon when they lost five games.
Oregon State is favored (-3 ½) by most offshore and Las Vegas sports books probably based on how they finished the season against the spread covering six of its last eight games. The Beavers were very consistent for the UNDER on total action cashing in 9-of-12 games they played.

Mizzou covered ATS in 6-of-11 games and likewise, the UNDER cashed in 6-of-11 games for the total. Just as the Tigers stumbled finishing the season SU, they proved unreliable to their backers by failing to cover ATS in four of their last six games.
