Colt does it again.
For the fourth consecutive game, Texas redshirt freshman Colt McCoy engineered a come-from-behind victory, this time leading the Longhorns over Texas Tech in Lubbock, 35-31.
"How about the defense making stops like that?" McCoy said to reporters after the game. "That was incredible."
The humble freshman needs to start taking some of the credit. Soon enough, national pundits will be showering him with praise for the Davey O'Brien Award.
Don't laugh, the statistics don't lie.
McCoy is the seventh-best QB in passing efficiency in Division I-AA. McCoy has completed 67.7 percent of his passes for 1,705 yards. Most impressive, he boasts a 24:4 TD-to-interception ratio.

On Monday, McCoy laughed when a reporter brought up if he should be considered for a more prestigious award.
"There are a lot of other players on this team who should be up for the Heisman," McCoy said.

The Lane-ding Zone: Texas A&M RB Jorvorskie Lane found the end zone for the ninth game this season, and 10th game in a row, in the Aggies' win against Baylor. Lane is tied with Clemson RB James Davis as the second-leading scorer in the nation with 17 rushing TDs. "I never thought a person that big could have feet the way that he has," A&M freshman Michael Goodson, a 192-pound speedster who was the state's top running back recruit last year, told AggieSports.Com. "He can move like me in and out of the holes." Yes, shades of Jerome Bettis.
