At the beginning of the year, no one circled the Georgia Tech and Clemson game on their calendar as a potential ACC championship game preview. However, both schools have bounced back from early season defeats to take their place atop the conference standings heading into Saturday's contest at Clemson Memorial Stadium.
Both the No. 12 Tigers (6-1 SU & ATS) and No. 13 Yellow Jackets (5-1 SU & ATS) have won five in a row, with each squad knocking off ACC foes who were considered title contenders back in August. The Tigers are the highest-scoring team in the nation, averaging 43.9 ppg, and sixth nationally in total offense, posting 459.0 yards. Running back James Davis is tied for first in the country with 14 rushing TDs.
Clemson rolled winless Temple 63-9 on Oct. 12 while Georgia Tech had a bye last week, leaving each team well-rested. The Tigers didn't play their starters long against the Owls, with most departing after the first half.
