With a talented group of runners Oklahoma will look to run often and throw short passes on offense. The best Quarterback prospect at the moment is talented Fr. Sam Bradford, 6-5,195. Running Quarterback, true Freshman Keith Nichol, 6-1 185, was a star in High School and has opened some eyes also. Oklahoma has a potent 1-2 running attack with fast Sr. Allen Patrick, 6-0 190, who has incredible moves, and hard charging So. Chris Brown, 5-10 190. Whoever plays Quarterback will have some big, skilled targets, especially Jr. Wideout Malcom Kelley, 6-4 217, who can catch practically anything thrown in his direction. The Offensive Line is big, nasty and can open holes bigger than a 12 gauge shotgun. On the defensive side of the ball the Sooners are an aggressive blitzing unit with speed. The front seven is short on experience but is full of excellent athletes with speed. Outside Linebacker Jr. Curtis Loften, 6-0 235, is an abuser who can intimidate. The secondary is big and athletic. The Secondary has to be conidered one of the top units in the country with a shutdown corner in Jr. Reggie Smith, 6-1 195. With an excellent Kicker who rarely misses the Sooners have great special teams.
The Oklahoma Sooners could struggle early while their Quarterbacks gain experience but could be nearly unstoppable towards the end of the season. Bodog.com have posted college football betting odds to win the 2008 BCS National Championship: |
