Eastern Michigan Eagles 2006 MAC West Preview
by Thomas Jensen on Saturday, September 2nd, 2006
There were a lot of close calls for head coach Jeff Genyk's Eastern Michigan Eagles last season, with five of their seven losses by three points or less, but they again wound up below .500.
The Eastern Michigan Eagles offense did not perform as expected last year, and that was with eight starters. This year, they have a new quarterback but at least he'll have some good receivers and a solid offensive line.
The 2005 defense was better than a year previous, reducing 42 points per game allowed in 2004 to 27 points per game last season. Seven from that defense return and they have depth, so look for the Eastern Michigan Eagles even more point improved during the 2006 college football season.
Special Teams looks great as it returns intact. The Eastern Michigan Eagles are still green, however, and they face the toughest schedule in the Mid American Conference this season. There will no doubt be a few more heartbreakers in 2006.
