He is the sort of player who draws double coverage virtually every time he leaves the huddle. On the ground, the Yellow Jackets got a solid season from running back Tashard Choice, who ran 249 times for 1,250 yards. He also scored 10 times and averaged nearly five yards per carry. Slaton is the frontrunner for the potent Mountaineer ground attack. He is third among NCAA rushers this year at 144.4 yards per game and is second in NCAA all-purpose yardage (172.8 pga). Slaton was an all-purpose wonder against Pitt, rushing for 215 yards with two touchdowns and gaining 130 yards through the passing game, with a pair of receiving touchdowns. White became the first quarterback in Big East history to run and pass for more than 1,000 yards in the same season, accumulating 1,524 yards through the air and gaining 1,074 yards on the ground.
