Believe it or not, Saturday’s match-up will have no bearing on the ACC’s Atlantic Division race as it pertains to the Deacons. If Wake Forest defeats Maryland next week, the Deacons will go to Jacksonville for the ACC Championship game on December 2 to play Georgia Tech. This week’s game, though, does affect the division title chances for Boston College and Maryland. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
Wake Forest (9-1, 5-1 ACC) and Virginia Tech (8-2, 4-2 ACC) fit similar profiles. Both teams feature stout defenses, productive rushing offenses, excellent special teams and a positive turnover radio.
