I am shaking my head as I peruse the betting odds, posted by offshore sportsbook Bookmakers.com , on the likelihood of each contestant’s chances of being eliminated on tonight’s (April 4th) show. When it comes to American Idol nothing really surprises me anymore but I am a bit taken aback at Sanjaya’s staying power. According to the betting odds, Sanjaya is the fourth least likely contestant to be voted off with +1000 odds. For the betting novice, that means you would win $1,000 USD on a $100 bet. The most likely to be voted off the show tonight (according to oddsmakers) is Gina Glocksen at -150 odds ($150 bet to win $100). Now that is a shocker as I have Glocksen in my top-five. Of course I base my opinion on what I perceive to be talent, something Sanjaya has very little of. Melinda Doolittle, to the surprise of no-one, is the least likely to be eliminated with +9000 odds. If Doolittle is thrown off then I could claim conspiracy then cry because I didn’t win the $9,000 clams on a hundred dollar bet. In all my previous articles I claim that Doolittle will be the next American Idol. Blake Lewis , one of my favorites, is the second least likely to be eliminated at +3300 while Jordin Sparks is with Sanjaya at +1000. Bookmakers.com has Chris Richards in fifth at +700 followed by Philip Stacey +400, Haley Scarnato +375, and Lakisha Jones +300. Melinda Doolittle -105 Blake Lewis +415 Jordin Sparks +300 Lakisha Jones +750 Sanjaya Malakar+1500 Chris Richardson +4000
