Rosie O’Donnell quit The View three weeks early after an on-air battle with her co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck. O’Donnell was scheduled to report back to work today, however she requested to leave the show early. BetUS.com have posted +2000 odds that Rosie will start publishing a new magazine next.Network President Brian Frons at ABC made the following statement, “We had hoped that Rosie would be with us until the end of her contract three weeks from now, but Rosie has informed us that she would like an early leave. Therefore, we part ways, thank her for her tremendous contribution to The View and wish her well." Rosie has been very outspoken about the issue since the bitter argument took place. She has posted numerous blog entries and a couple of videos on her website since last week. O’Donnell said she will most likely never speak to Elisabeth Hasselbeck again, although they have exchanged emails. "I haven't spoken to her, and I probably won't, and I think it's just as well," O’Donnell said. "I wrote her an e-mail, and she wrote me back, and there you have it." Hasselbeck confirmed she had been in contact with O’Donnell on Tuesday’s show. Barbara Walters said she had also emailed Rosie and the two remain “close friends.” "Rosie and I have been emailing each other all weekend with the most affectionate notes because we are very close friends, and, as I said last week, my admiration and affection for her, Rosie, if you're watching, nothing will change that," Walters said. Walters went on to explain how the split screen used during the fight added to O’Donnell’s decision to leave the show early. "Rosie was never fired and there was no desire to have her leave the show," she said. "It was her decision not to come back. We hoped that she would have next year, as long as she wanted to. Then, again, this time, it was Rosie's decision not to return for the other three weeks. She has said on her blog that she was upset by a split screen, which is a device that shows two people together." Barbara Walters said Rosie was welcomed to come back any time, and she hoped it would be often. Whoopi Goldberg filled in for Rosie O’Donnell on Tuesday’s show. There has been no word yet on who will replace O’Donnell permanently. BetUS.com has posted the following betting odds on what Rosie O'Donnell will do next?
