American Idol 2010 – Who will replace Simon Cowell on American Idol? Simon Cowell is leaving American Idol at the completion of the ninth season which gets underway Tuesday (Jan. 12). If the program is to continue and there is no doubt producers will want to keep it going beyond 2010, an adequate replacement for Cowell will be necessary.
