American Idol aired its Omaha and Miami auditions this week wrapping up the end of audition programs. So now its time for Randy Jackson’s famous blast…“Welcome to Hollywood.” That’s right; AI is done with the auditions round from around the country and ready to pare the Hollywood field down to the final 24 contestants.
Here at Point-Spreads.com we will be bringing you updated odds from week to week as the field narrows down to the next American Idol. Already a few of the online sportsbooks are offering props bets while several others are waiting to find out what contestants make the final 24.
If you like props betting then you are in luck. Bookmaker.com is offering a gender bet right now.
Will the winner of American Idol-7 be male or female.
Male -110
Female -120
These odds are in the money line format. To win $100 will require a $110 bet. A female wager will cost you $120 to win 100. This prop has a Feb.13 deadline so you need to get your bets in before the Hollywood round begins.
I can’t help but lean towards a male winner this year. One reason is I liked the male talent that made it to the Hollywood round better than the female talent that auditioned. Another reason is the trend seems to alternate male-female. The only time a male didn’t follow a female was when Carrie Underwood succeeded Fantasia in season four. After the fourth season the trend returned to boy-girl when Taylor Hicks succeeded Underwood in season five and Jordin Sparks succeeded Hicks in year six. Now the question is who will succeed Sparks in season seven.
