American Idol 2010: Week Two Begins With Ladies Night

by Trixie Hammer on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

The ‘American Idol’ buzz is hot! This week we’ll hear from the top 20 contestants. Who do you think should be voted off? The online sportsbook BODOG.com has made predictions on who will be the next ‘American Idol’. Janell Wheeler, Ashley Rodriguez, Joe Munoz, and Tyler Grady were eliminated for ‘Idol’ during week one season 9.

Week two consists of another three nights of ‘Idol”. On Tuesday the show will return and we’ll hear from the top 10 Ladies. Lilly Scott, said to win at 40 to 1 odds, and Paige Mills, 33 to 1 odds, are predicted to get booted off this week. The boys will perform on Wednesday. Everyone feels Tim Urban, taking the ‘Idol’ title at 25 to 1 odds , should go home. Most fans feel he should have never been given a second chance to return to the show after being eliminated during Hollywood week. Urban was brought back after Chris Golightly’s past contract issues surfaced which in turn eliminated him from the show before it even began. Thursday night’s show consists of eliminations and heartbreak.

As the weeks progress, drama and tension seems is building between Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres. Reports claim that things got off to a rough start when Simon arrived late for Ellen’s first taping during Hollywood week. Ellen has since moved seats on the panel so she is no longer sitting next to Simon. Her explanation, “Simon Wants Me”! The first live episode of ‘American Idol’ featured a spoof video that showed how Simon couldn’t keep his hands off of Ellen. The video was also played on Ellen’s daytime talk show. Simon and Ellen both deny rumors that they already have a rocky relationship. Simon answered questions about the possible tension on the show on a conference call with reporters last week, saying, “There was no fall out” between him and his costar. Ellen of course responds with humor saying, “Anything can happen on live television. Yesterday, Simon had so many buttons open on his shirt he almost had a wardrobe malfunction! It’s also interesting to hear the contestants sing live verses watching at home because I didn’t realize … they sound totally different. … You know, in the studio Simon has a Texas accent and he’s the sweetest guy. He’s totally hairless.” I don’t know…I don’t think Ellen seems herself on ‘American Idol’. I’m hoping she loosens up this week. Ellen is hilarious and she needs to step it up.

Make sure to tune in Tuesday night to Fox at 8:00 PM EST. to check out all the ‘American Idol’ week two drama!
