American Idol 2010 Down To The Sweet 16: Unless there’s another last minute schedule swap, expect the top 8 girls to perform on American Idol Season 9 tonight. The online sportsbook BODOG.com has made predictions on who will be the next ‘American Idol’. The girl to watch tonight is Katie Stevens with 13 to 2 odds of winning. Katie bores me but she has a beautiful voice. Her look seems to fit the squeaky-clean ‘American Idol’ image, which makes her extremely likable among the judges. I hope tonight Katie shakes things up a bit and picks a younger song as instructed by the judges.
Without a doubt, Crystal Bow
esrox will make it to the top 6 with 4 to 1 odds of winning the entire competition. Not only does she seem to be Simon’s favorite, she is the anti-idol, which is refreshing to most ‘American Idol’ voters. Her performances have been solid even after a trip to the hospital last week. Complete with dreads and pierced lip, Crystal has been rumored to deny the ‘Idol’ makeover week after week! I love that.
Didi Benami has odds of winning ‘Idol” with 20 to 1 odds. She has a very unique voice that seems to put Ellen in a trance . Didi is blonde and pretty and I think viewers will vote for her just for that reason.
Lacey Brown, with 50 to 1 odds of taking the ‘Idol’ title, needs to pull a dynamic performance tonight if she wants to make it another week. I really like Lacey but she just seems to miss the mark every week. Lacey is in serious threat of being eliminated this week. Hopefully she faces her fear and gives it all she’s got tonight!
Lilly Scott is probably my favorite female performer with 12 to 1 odds of winning. I said this at the beginning and I’ll say it again, this girl is too good for this show! She needs to front her own band and make millions. I almost hope she gets voted off this week so she can move on with her life.
Another one of my favorites is Siobhan Magnus with 5 to 1 odds of winning ‘American Idol’. This girl is entertaining! I can’t get enough of Siobhan! She’s the weird one though and unfortunately that may not fly with ‘Idol’ voters. I think she’ll make it far but she’s just too much of an oddball to make it to the end.
The big buzz today is Simon Cowell’s appearance on the Jay Leno show last night where he endorsed Crystal Bowersox! Simon made it very clear that he’s a huge fan of Crystal. Simon said, “I tell you who I like, I like this girl Crystal," Cowell said. "When I first saw her, I described her as a busker, and I liked the way she handled that, because she admitted that's what she was. But she's got some confidence now. She was ill, she's got over that, she's got a great voice. She's different. I like her."
It’s easy to assume that Simon’s opinion may affect not only tonight’s performances but also the way America votes this evening.
The show falls back to one hour tonight and starts at 8 p.m. on Fox. The top 8 boys will perform tomorrow night with elimination night falling again on Thurday.
