Prior to Tuesday’s airing of American Idol, Archuleta was a 2/3odds favorite to win the contest according to oddsmakers at Bodoglife.com . When betting opened Wednesday morning, the odds on Archuleta had dropped to 11/10. While Archuleta is still the betting favorite to win American Idol the rest of the pack is catching up. Bodoglife has set -110 money line odds on any contestant winning other than Archuleta. Ireland native Carly Smithson’s 6/1 odds chance of winning are second best however the odds on her remained the same on Wednesday. In a surprising move, David Castro is now has the third best odds at 8/1. Michael Johns, a resident of Buckhead, Georgia has the fourth best odds at 9/1, an improvement from 10/1 on Tuesday. Chikezie , with 100/1 odds, is the oddsmakers least favorite to win American Idol inspite of his brilliant performance of “She’s A Woman.” It will be interesting to see how voters react to his great performance and to Archuleta’s bad showing. There is no doubt; Chikezie deserves to make the top-10. Overall, there were few bad performances on Tuesday. Other than Archuleta, Ramiele Malubay bored everybody with her version of “In My Life” and David Hernandez delivered a karoke sounding “I Saw Her Standing There.” Kristy Lee Cook ruined “Eight Day’s a Week” by attempting to turn the song country. Simon Cowell thought it was horrendous. When it came to my voting on who stays and who goes, I decided Kristy Cook and David Hernandez should go, however; I am usually wrong. I won’t be surprised if Ramiele Mulabay gets the axe either. Updated American Idol betting odds provided by Bodoglife.com. David Archuleta 11/10 Carly Smithson 6/1 Jason Castro 8/1 Michael Johns 9/1 Ramiele Malubay 13/1 Brooke White 15/2 David Cook 17/2 David Hernandez 28/1 Kristy Lee Cook 60/1 Syesha Mercado 18/1 Amanda Overmyer 60/1 Chikezie 100/1 |
