In recent reports, Niecy said, “Let me tell you something, it will be the battle of the mothers!” She also added that she wasn’t surprised she got the call to be on ‘DWTS’ saying, “It just seemed like the right thing to do. I am dancing for redemption. I haven’t put on a leotard since I was put out of my eighth grade dance class. So I’m trying to prove to my old dance teacher that I can do it.”
The 39-year-old ‘Reno 911!” star said that her biggest competition is 80-year-old Buzz Aldrin saying, “I peeked in on Buzz’s rehearsal, he has some hip moves and I don’t know if America is ready for it .”
Niecy is paired up with professional dancer Louis Van Amstel who finished third last season with Kelly Osbourne. He is very excited to be working with someone who has a sense of humor. Louis said, “I think when it comes to this season's cast, you're going to be the life of the party," Louis tells Niecy, adding, "The chemistry is no problem. … When Niecy came through that door, I thought, Oh, I'm in heaven. It's all good.” Niecy and Louis have been practicing non-stop. Niecy even admitted, “I'm hurting in places I didn't know I had. My feet feel like they're bleeding every day, but the other side of that is I get to get a delicious foot massage from my boo!" The dancing partners are planning the cha-cha for their March 22nd debut.
In addition to her work on ‘Reno 911!’, which won her a 2010 Gracie Award for her role as Officer Raineesha Williams, Niecy is the host and producer of the Style Network's home makeover show, ‘Clean House’. Niecy is a two-time 2009 Daytime Emmy nominee and the new Celebrity Panelist for the entertainment news program, The Insider’. Niecy also runs her own production company called Chocolate Chick, Inc.
