American Idol 2010 Week 8 Results Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens Say Goodbye: Two contestants were eliminated from ‘American Idol 2010’ this week due to Michael Lynche’s "save" by the judges last week. Andrew Garcia and Katie Stevens said goodbye tonight. The online sportsbook BODOG.com has made predictions on who will be the next ‘American Idol’.
The first singer booted off tonight’s show was Andrew Garcia. Simon Cowell called Andrew Garcia's moody interpretation of Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" on Tuesday's show "lazy and predictable," while Randy Jackson declared it was "not good karaoke." After his dismissal, Garcia told the crowd: "I'm glad I've been through what I've been through." Ryan Seacrest cut right to the point, basically pushing Garcia onto the stage to sing his goodbyes to America. He managed to squeeze in a few words before the cut to commercial. "Thank you guys. I mean I appreciate everything. I'm glad I'm here. You guys let me experience something I've never experienced before. Thank you."
The second ‘Idol’ hopeful to get the boot tonight was Katie Stevens. Her performance of "Baby, What Do You Want Me To Do?" was one of her best but wasn’t enough to keep her in the competition. Host Ryan Seacrest later asked Katie Stevens what she would tell her friends about being on ‘Idol’. "About all the amazing people I met, the amazing experience that this was," Stevens said at the end of the show when she was told she had been eliminated from the competition. At least Katie can focus on who she’s going to let take her to the prom!
‘American Idol’ performance episode airs Tuesday at *8:00 PM EST. on Fox.
