American Idol welcomes Andrew Lloyd Webber as coach and mentor to the final six contestants on Tuesday’s show and will perform on the Wednesday night elimination show. Favorites David Archuleta and David Cook as well as the four long-shots, Carly Smithson, Brooke White, Syesha Mercado and Jason Castro will try to impress viewers and judges with their show tunes talent singing from the Andrew Lloyd Webber selection of songs from the set of “Phantom the Las Vegas Spectacular” at the Venetian Hotel, Las Vegas. Archuleta, considered the American Idol front runner by most online oddsmakers, is expected to put in a strong performance; especially with this show tunes genre. According to online sportsbook Bodoglife.com, Archuleta is an 8/11 ($110 to win $80) favorite to win the show. In a money line wagering category, Archuleta is a -150 favorite to win the competition. Odds on Mercado’s elimination are 5/4. At 2/1 odds, Carly Smithson is another likely elimination contestant.
