David Cook, American Idol’s remaining rock’n’roll talent should be jumping up and down with excitement Tuesday night when the remaining four American Idol contestants perform using a Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame theme. Cook, who according to online oddsmakers at Bodoglife.com is now the odds favorite to win the seventh season of American Idol. Oddsmakers have installed Cook as a 5/8 odds favorite to win the contest. 

David Archuleta , considered most of the season as the person to beat by pundits and fans, still has an excellent chance of winning with 13/8 odds. It must be noted that betting odds are not necessarily what will really happen. Even oddsmakers have trouble guessing what voters will actually do. 

Odds on Jason Castro winning are set at 20/1 and Syesha Mercado 30/1. 

Not much drama is expected this week since it’s a given that either Jason Castro or Syesha Mercado will be voted off the show this week. Or will they? History has shown us that stranger things have happened. 

Only a month ago David Archuleta was the favorite to win while Carly Smithson and Michael Johns were serious contenders. Where are Smithson and Johns now?
