American Idol will cut its number of contestants down to the final two when voting results are announced on tonight’s (May 14) show. Point-Spreads.com predicts the only remaining female, Syesha Mercado, will be voted off the show based on Tuesday’s performances. Point-Spreads.com entertainment handicapping expert Reno Gold explained it this way. “Syesha is going to be a star, most probably on stage,” Gold said. “However, she is not better than the two guys [David Archuleta and David Cook] who I think will be superstars.” “Just in case you haven’t noticed, Syesha’s odds of winning took a major nose-dive overnight from long-shot (18/1) to forget-about-it (50/1),” Gold said. “It looks like David Cook solidified his lead following Tuesday’s performance according to Wednesday morning’s odds. On Tuesday Cook (4/5 odds) was a slight leader over Archuleta (8/7). Wednesday morning, Bodoglife.com adjusted the odds slightly in Cooks favor, 2/5 to 9/4.” Syesha probably has a pretty good idea that Wednesday will be her last day on American Idol. If she doesn’t she had her ears turned off to the judges Tuesday night. ''I don't know if it's going to be good enough to get into the finals,'' the almost always positive Paula Abdul said following Syesha’s final song Hit Me Up. Simon Cowell also wasn’t impressed with Syesha calling her performance of song-two Fever as “Cabarret.” Barring any major upset, we can expect to see a David vs. David in the final next week. And if we had to make a bet today, our choice would be David Cook. Odds on who will win American Idol Season-7. Odds provided by Bodoglife.com David Cook 2/5 ($50 bet to win $20) David Archuleta 8/7 ($7 bet to win $8) Syesha Mercado 50/1( $1 bet to win $50)
