2010 Miss USA Miss Michigan Rima Fakih 12 to 1 Odds: Untraditional beauty queen Rima Fakih is the current Miss Michigan and is described as a non-traditional titleholder. Online entertainment betting giant SPORTSBOOK.com has posted betting odds to win the 2010 Miss America Crown and has Rima Fakih with +1200 odds.
Rima Fakih is an Arab American daughter of Lebanese immigrants. In addition to maintaining her Miss Michigan duties, Rima Fakih has held down three jobs over the past year.
All the changes that came with winning Miss Michigan came as quite a shock for Rima Fakih. When asked what she was doing just a tear ago, Rima Fakih replied, “You know it's funny, just a year ago, I was actually looking for a second job. I was looking to pay off my loans from my undergraduate degree, and I was gearing up to apply for law school which also is quite expensive. So, basically, my only concern at that time was to make money to be able to continue my education. I never thought I would be here. I actually grew up a tom-boy. My Mom would beg me to wear dresses and make-up. So as a child, the thought of being in a pageant really never crossed my mind, but then I saw financial opportunity in it and decided to give it a try.”
This Sunday Rima Fakih will have her chance to win the Miss USA crown despite her unconventional background.
The 2010 Miss USA Pageant is Sunday night May 16th on NBC. Celebrity Chef Curtis Stone will host the event.
