Rumors are starting to circulate throughout the Hollywood scene that pop tart Britney Spears will be apologizing to her fans for her pathetic performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. The apology will be done at the Emmy Awards taping this Sunday.
A source close to Britney Spears tells Us Weekly: “I can’t say this is 100 percent not true. All I can say is that the Emmy people aren’t dealing with her record company, her manager or her agents at William Morris. So if she is doing anything for the Emmys then it’s not going through the official channels.”
Celebrity Gossip Blogger and part time rapper Perez Hilton has stated, “Brit Brit has been keeping a low profile since the show. Smart. Be smarter, do the Emmy apology!”
First, Britney's performance of her new single "Gimme More" was panned worldwide, with critics saying Spears was listless, overweight, unprepared and unenthusiastic lip-synching (often out of synch or not singing at all). Entertainment betting website WagerWeb.com has posted +250 odds that Spears will be dropped from her record label.
Point-Spreads.com has heard reports saying that Britney Spears was seen crying backstage after the performance and that she ran off stage, saying "Oh, my God, I looked like a fat pig!"
Entertainment Weekly called it "an awkward mess."
