Tonight the Final-Three American Idol contestants, Jordin, Melinda and Blake , perform three songs each hoping to hit a home run for Randy, Paula and Simon, and most importantly with the viewers who will call in their votes to determine the final two contestants. Unlike past weeks when the performers had to sing a specific genre from a visiting artists’ songbook, this week the remaining three sing one song  selected by themselves, one song selected by the judges and one song selected by record producer Clive Davis. 

Who is Clive Davis? He is not just a record producer but “The” record producer. Davis is to the music industry what the Beatles were to Rock and Roll or Pearl Jam was to Grunge. Davis is the man… the Mac-Daddy of music moguls. It’s Davis who discovered and cultivated the likes of Barry Manilow, Bruce Springsteen, Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston. Davis, who currently runs the RCA Music Group, is a music industry legend; a man Jordin, Melinda and Blake need to impress for it would do wonders for their musical careers. 

It’s hard to say who will get cut from the group after tonight’s performances because at this point, there is not a weak link in the bunch. If either contestant suffers a bad night it could spell doom for the chance to continue. However, oddsmakers at Bookmaker.com, like every week, are offering betting odds on who sticks around and who goes home.

Bookmaker.com has been “Spot-On” the past two weeks predicting the departure of Phil and Lakisha. If they are correct this week it will be Blake Lewis taking a hike as the beat-boxer is expected to be the odd-man-out with -300 odds. That means you would need to bet $300 to win $100. 

American Idol has been shaping up to be a Melinda-Jordin battle in the finale for quite some time and at this point, Jordin Sparks is the odds-on favorite to become the winner of American Idol-6 with -200 odds ($100 bet to win $200) followed by Melinda Doolittle at +245 (win $245 on a $100 bet) and Blake not expected to win with +485 odds. 

Since oddsmakers are often wrong its still worth tuning in to Fox and judge for yourself.
