Anna Nicole Smith Paternity Test Ordered for Baby

by Thomas Jensen on Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

Anna Nicole Smith Paternity Test Ordered for BabyAnna Nicole Smith and her daughter Dannielynn Hope Marshall Stern were ordered by a Los Angeles judge on Tuesday to undergo a genetic paternity test by January 23rd, 2006.

Smith gave birth to Dannielynn in the Bahamas in September 2006 and claimed that her long time lawyer Howard K. Stern is the father.  Former lover Larry Birkhead sued Anna Nicole in October to get a paternity test to prove who the father of the child was once and for all.

Online sports betting giant Bodog.com lists Larry Birkhead as a 2/3 favorite to be named the biological father.

"Christmas has come early, and I thank God that I will soon have the opportunity to prove that I am the father … and eventually hold her in my arms," Birkhead said in the statement.

Legal experts say it will be difficult to enforce the paternity test order as long as Anna Nicole remains in the Bahamas.

Smith was directed to provide saliva swabs from herself and Dannielynn.  If she refuses, the judge could hold Smith in contempt and she would be arrested the next time she visits California.

Bodog.com has posted odds on who will a court ordered paternity test reveal is the father of Anna Nicole Smith's baby Dannielynn?

Larry Birkhead: 2/3

Howard K. Stern: 10/11

Other: 6/1
