Apolo Anton Ohno took home the mirror ball trophy last night on Dancing with the Stars. Apolo and his dance partner Julianne Hough have been the team to beat from the very beginning of the competition. Bodog.com favored Apolo Anton Ohno to win with 2/3 odds.
"I feel amazing,” Ohno said. “Like I said from day one, everybody here is a champion…The lessons to be learned from this competition are amazing…if you put your mind to something and give it 100 percent, you give sacrifice and dedication, anything is possible."
Apolo is the third male contestant in a row to win the dance competition, following Drew Lachey and Emmitt Smith. Surprisingly, Kelly Monaco was the first and only female to win.
Apolo’s strongest competition this season was former NSYNC-er Joey Fatone. Fatone was in the finals, but in the end Apolo took the trophy.
“Joey is an amazing performer,” said Point-Spreads.com Gossip Columnist Chatty Kathy. “But Apolo is a better ballroom dancer technically. Sometimes it was hard to tell who was the professional dancer, him or Julianne.”
Now that the show has wrapped, people are waiting to see if Apolo and Julianne confirm the rumors that they are romantically involved. In the middle of the season, Julianne and her fiancé, former dancer Zach Wilson, called off their wedding. However, Julianne says she is still in a relationship and the wedding was only postponed.
Let the reality TV rumor track record speak for itself. I wouldn’t be surprised if these two officially start dating soon.
