Beyonce Knowles has landed the cover of Sports Illustrated magazine. She is the first woman to be on the cover of the magazine that is not a model or an athlete. The photo shoot took place on the beach in Key Biscayne, Florida.
Knowles is sporting a yellow and pink bikini, compliments of the clothing line House of Dereon, which she owns with her mother, Tina Knowles. Other pictures of Beyonce in swimwear can be found inside the magazine or on Sports Illustrated’s website.
Knowles admits she watched what she ate leading up to the photo shoot. She says she found the experience nerve-wracking.
"It takes a lot of guts. I'm really a shy person,” she said. "But in my everyday world, as a musical performer, I'm playing a character. I had to tap that same character."
Beyonce Knowles knows how to tap into character quite well. She has been nominated for eight Oscars for her role in “Dreamgirls.” Her single “Listen”, from the soundtrack, “Dreamgirls”, is nominated for Best Song. Knowles performed “Listen” at last weeks Grammy Awards.
