Yet more controversy appears to have engulfed Big Brother as contestant Emily Parr has been sensationally ejected for using a racially offensive word to housemate Charley.
And Irish bookies Paddy Power are offering 9/2 that the TV show will be scrapped following this latest amazing turn of events. Performing arts student Emily had been up for the first eviction on Friday along with fellow contestant Shabnam. Red faced Channel 4 executives issued a hurried statement saying: "In consultation with senior executives at Channel 4, the decision was taken to remove Emily from the house on the grounds that she had broken the rules governing contestant behaviour." This controversy has prompted Paddy Power to cut the odds on the programme being axed before the series ends from 10/1 into 9/2. The Dublin firm are also refunding all bets on Emily to be the first to leave as she wasn't evicted by public vote.
Sharon McHugh, Paddy Power's Big Brother expert, said: "This is exactly the start that nobody wanted. "Big Brother bosses will be feeling the pressure and Big Brother punters don't know where they stand, so we think the only fair option is to refund on Emily and effectively turn all Shabnam bets into freebies."
