Now that Sanjaya Malakar has been dumped from American Idol , (and rightfully so) the question arises; where does he go from here? Word is already getting around that Britney Spears is interested.  With what could be described as a Sanjaya cult following, Spears is reportedly interested in pairing up with him so she can take advantage of his large teeny-bopper fan base. Are we in for a Britney-Sanjaya duet anytime soon? 

What we found out at Point-Spreads.com is that Star Magazine is coming out with a soon to be published report that Spears fell in love with Sanjaya while rehabbing at an undisclosed drug and alcohol treatment facility. We will keep our ears to the ground for any follow-up regarding this story. 

Sanjaya told Fox affiliate in Seattle, KCPQ, he plans to return home Tuesday, but he hopes his career isn’t over. “I want to experience the whole entertainment industry”, Sanjaya said. He is interested in acting, modeling and maybe even doing some Broadway.

Sanjaya appeared on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Thursday morning and discussed his experience on American Idol. Sanjaya said he held no hard feelings toward Simon Cowell who was often harsh in his critiques aimed at his on-stage performances. On Tuesday night Cowell told Sanjaya, “It was horrendous,” referring to his rendition of Bonnie Raitts, ‘Lets Give Them Something To Talk About’.

It is almost certain Sanjaya will be offered numerous promotional contracts from companies wanting to take advantage of his boyish good looks and popularity in promoting their products. Earlier in April, Kentucky Fried Chicken CEO Greg Dedrick offered Sanjaya a lifetime supply of fried chicken if he would go on stage with a haircut from a KFC bowl. Let’s see if KFC comes up with another promotional offer.
