American Idol judge Paula Abdul broke her nose over the weekend while trying to avoid stepping on her Chihuahua, Tulip. Abdul is still recovering from the accident, but she will be present on American Idol tonight. Jordin Sparks and Blake Lewis are the final two contestants competing for the title.
"She's a little sore, but is doing fine," Abdul’s publicist David Brokaw said.
People are speculating whether or not this could all be a publicity stunt to get more viewers to tune in. After last week’s upseting elimination with Melinda Doolittle going home, people were angry.
“I don't think Paula really broke her nose,” said Point-Spreads.com Gossip Columnist Chatty Kathy. “And if she did, it probably wasn't from tripping over her dog. Idol pissed off half of their viewers last week when Melinda was sent home. They need all the help they can get.”
Paula Abdul spoke to Extra and said she tore the cartilage in her nose and fractured her toe. "I took a nasty fall … trying not to hurt my dog. I bruised myself on my arm … my chest, my waist all the way down to my hip. All from my little chubby Tulip. Tulip has no remorse. She just stared at me."
"Paula went to the doctor and she did break her nose, but she's moving on and doing great. She looks terrific. If you didn't know she broke her nose, you'd never guess anything happened to her. She is in pain. No question about that. But you'd never know anything happened to her. There are no bandages. She's got some bruises on her arms and on one of her legs. Tulip is fine. For dogs, every day is Saturday," Brokaw told the press about Paula’s condition.
People will most likely tune in to see Paula’s broken nose tonight. Jordin and Blake will each sing three songs: one chosen by the song writing contest winner, a song of their choice and one they previously performed.
