Many of you have heard Ryan Phillippe's name lately all throughout the news and in the magazines. He has been married to actress Reese Witherspoon for seven years and was recently seperated from her for adultery. He was even spotted with his mystress, Abbie Cornish, and was apparently not even trying to hide the affair.
Reese and Ryan were introduced during her 21st birthday party. He wasn't sure he was even invited but went anyway for some free beer. He proposed to Reese while the two were on vacation together in December 1998. They married the following year in June while Witherspoon was 6 months pregnant with their daughter Ava. Ava is a spitting image of Reese while their son Deacon, 3, closely resembles Phillippe. Deacon was born in October 2003.

From the public's eye, all seemed to be perfect for the couple. It wasn't until recently that negative publicity was written about them in the media. Many have noticed the two haven't been seen together lately and when they were photographed together, their body language showed that there was tension between them. Phillippe had been witnessed spending alot of time with Cornish while on and off the set up there upcoming movie. According to people on the set, the two seemed to have a great connection.
Ryan Phillippe was recently announced to be a nominee for the Academy Awards. BetUS.com has Phillippe at +1800 to win the Best Actor category for the 79th Annual Academy Awards in 2007 for his role in “Flags of Our Father”.
Of course the announcement of the split and mainly the reason for the split do not give him positive attention but at least he is being recognized for his acting after all, it is the reason he got into trouble with his wife! Neither he nor Reese has yet to speak out about the separation but I am sure more facts surrounding the end of their relationship will develop. This is only the beginning!

Many believe that it's the "7 year itch" of celebrity marriages. They join the club along with Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston, Christina Applegate and Johnathan Schaech, and Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger who's marriages all ended in the 7th year.
