Larry Birkhead exited the Bahamian court and walked up to the microphone and said, “I hate to be the one to tell you this but I told you so!” It’s official, Larry Birkhead is the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby girl, Dannielynn! Bodog.com had Birkhead as the odds on favorite to be named the father.
After months of paternity issues surrounding the 8 month old, finally there is a conclusion to the battle over the baby. Howard K. Stern said he will not stand in the way if the paternity test reveal Birkhead is the father. After exiting the court Stern reiterated the same comment saying he will not fight Birkhead for custody. He said he is obviously dissappointed at the outcome but he will do whatever he can to make sure Larry Birkhead is granted sole custody. It is not yet clear whether Virgie Arthur will fight for custody of Dannielynn.
Court will resume on Friday to resolve the custody issue. Howard K. Stern said he would like the transition process to be a gradual one. He has Dannielynn’s best interest at heart and wants what’s best for her.
Howard K. Stern said he will remain in the Bahamas. He said he will not leave Anna and Daniel.
Several men claimed to be the father of Dannielynn during the past couple months, including Larry Birkhead, Howard K. Stern and Prince Fredrick von Anholt.
Anna Nicole Smith was found dead on February 8th, 2007 in her Florida hotel room. The Broward County Medical Examiner, Dr. Joshua Perper ruled Smith died of an accidental overdose. Nine perscription medications were found in her system including chloal hydrate, a sleeping medication that most likely was the biggest contributing factor to her death. Smith also had a bacterial infection from injecting an anti-aging drug into her buttocks.
When asked what Anna would be thinking right now, Larry Birkhead said he thinks she would be proud he fought it. Only one part of this saga ended today, but this story is far from over.
