Christina Aguilera has been gracing us her with her beautiful voice since 1992 when she first appeared on Star Search. Although she didn’t take home the win soon after she joined the cast of the Mickey Mouse Club which included Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and JC Chasez to name a few.
In 1998 she was given the opportunity to perform the main track to the Disney movie Mulan, “Reflections” a move that ultimately would give her the record deal she had always wanted. She signed with RCA Records and released her self titled debut album in the summer of 1999.
Aguilera has been compared to Madonna on several aspects but the main thing they have in common, their ability to transform themselves with every album. When she first hit the scene she was producing pop/dance tracks. On her second album, Stripped, she did just that. The album allowed Christina to strip away any last remnants of her previous squeaky clean image and expose herself completely unadorned and fearlessly outspoken. With songs like Dirrty, Beautiful, Can’t Hold Us Down, and Makeover, she confirmed her super star status and show the world she is the real deal. After some much needed R&R Aguilera emerged back into the spotlight when she began dating music executive Jordan Bratman. After 3 years of dating the two made it official on November 19, 2005 at a posh Northern California Resort. During her rest period and after meeting “the man of her dreams” Christina once again transformed herself to a more mature, established woman. Jordan allowed Christina to really feel Beautiful and his support allowed her to evolve into an even more resilient, strong performer.
She recently released her 3rd English album, Back to Basics, which includes the single “Ain’t No Other Man” which was a significant success. Aguilera describes the album as “a throwback to the 20s, 30s, and 40s style jazz, blues, and feel good soul music with a modern twist.”
Aguilera has won over 20 awards in her music lifetime but has never won her own MTV Video Music Award. She has however performed at the show several times including most recently at the 2006 show where she validated her status once again as a superstar. The next step for the established singer? Possibly children. Christina and Jordan will soon likely have children one day but Christina would like complete at least one other album first before having her first baby.
