Martin Scorsese should beat Clint Eastwood for Best Director at Golden Globe AwardsMartin Scorsese should beat out Clint Eastwood for the Best Director at the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards tonight.  Eastwood has been nominated for two movies in this category.  Scorsese is heavily favored at 1 to 8 odds (Bet $8.00 to win $1.00) to win the Best Director at Bodog.com.

The plot of The Departed surrounds a a powerful Irish mafia figure, played by Jack Nicholson, that has planted men inside the Massachusetts Police Academy Department, to serve as the eyes and ears of their boss.  While somewhere else, a young cadet, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, was assigned with an equally dangerous task: infiltrate the Irish syndicate headed by the man sending in his own to the Boston Police.

Scorsese hopes this tale and his incredible directorial performance, getting these great actors to gel, will eventually help him realize his dream of winning the elusive Oscar.
