Nicole Richie is denying rumors that she re-entered rehab to fight drug addiction. The National Enquirer and Star magazine are claiming the 25-year-old entered rehab on May 11th to cope with anorexia and her addiction to painkillers.
Richie was spotted entering the Beau Monde clinic in Corona Del Mar, California with an overnight bag. Sources claim she spent several days going through detox then started out-patient treatment. Nicole was seen arriving at the clinic again on May 19th.
Richie’s agent, Nicole Perma told E! News, "She is not in rehab, she is at home in Glendale. Sobriety is an ongoing process but she is sober."
She did confirm Nicole was seeing a therapist at the clinic monthly.
Richie has continually denied allegations of having an eating disorder. "That really bothers me because there are people who truly have eating disorders and it is a serious disease. To put that title on someone when it is not true is disrespectful. I've repeatedly said, 'No, I don't have an eating disorder,' and it has fallen on deaf ears," she told OK! Magazine.
Last December, Nicole Richie was arrested in Los Angeles on suspicion of driving under the influence after she was caught driving on the wrong side of the road. Richie admitted to officiers she had taken Vicodin and smoked marijuana earlier in the evening.
Richie was charged with DUI just like her Simple Life co-star and bff Paris Hilton. Paris will be reporting to jail on June 5th after violating probation stemming from her DUI last September.
