According to Paris Hilton’s psychiatrist, Hilton is too “emotionally distraught and traumatized” over her 45-day jail sentence that she is not capable of appearing or testifying in a civil lawsuit against her.
Zeta Graff, an actress and diamond heiress, is suing Paris Hilton for $10 million because she claims Hilton spread “vicious lies” about her. Hilton denied a report alleging Graff once tried to grab a $4 million necklace from her throat.
Hilton’s doctor, Dr Charles Sophy, said the 45-day jail sentence and “her fear of incarceration” has placed Paris Hilton in such a fragile state that she is incapable of providing “any significant input into her defense” at the current time. Dr. Charles Sophy’s claims were documented in court paper filed Monday. Sophy said Paris needs time to recover from the shock of receiving jail time for violating her probation before testifying in the civil case.
"At this point in time, Ms. Hilton cannot effectively respond to examination as a witness or provide any significant input into her defense," Sophy said.
Superior Court Judge Linda K. Lefkowitz postponed the trail to August. It had originally been scheduled to begin this month.
Hilton has been seeing Dr. Charles Sophy regularly for the past eight months. He has spoken with her several times since her disappointing May 4th hearing.
The countdown to Paris Hilton’s June 5th sentencing date will continue until the court decides on her appeal.
