As Paris Hilton awaits her 45-day jail sentence, she is recruiting her celebrity friends to support “Team Paris.” Paris feels she has been treated unfairly and that the sentence is cruel and unwarranted. The majority of her Hollywood friends seem to agree. Bodog.com has posted betting odds at 4 to 1 that California Governator Arnold Schwarzenegger will officially pardon Hilton.
Rosie O’Donnell spoke about the heiress on The View, admitting she sometimes drove under the influence when she was younger. However, she admits there is no excuse for doing so.
"Many people drive drunk. If you asked people in this audience how many have ever driven when they've had too much to drink, nearly everybody would raise their hand,” Rosie said. "It doesn't make it the right thing to do, and hopefully as you get to be an adult…I remember being 21 years old coming home from gigs, totally not in any capacity to drive. Thank God I didn't kill anyone or myself.”
Since the Paris news broke last week, TMZ.com reporters have been asking celebrities how they feel about Paris going to jail.
Terrance Howard responded by saying, “She’ll be alright. She’s a cat. She always lands on her feet.”
Former Full House actress Lori Loughlin feels bad for Hilton. “I don’t think Paris should be going away for 45 days. I think it’s a bit absurd and I think they’re making an example of her and it’s just not right,” she said.
Rick Fox, former L.A. Lakers basketball player said, “Nobody should go to jail.”
Of all people to come to Paris’ defense, her notorious look-alike Natalie Reid is 100 percent behind her. After exiting the trendy club Marquee in New York City Saturday night, Natalie held her hands in the air as if they were bound by hand cuffs and yelled, “Free Paris! Free Paris!” She also sent a personal shout out to Paris, “Paris we love you honey. Stay strong.”
Not everyone in Hollywood in on “Team Paris.” Cameron Diaz has no sympathy for Paris Hilton. Upset with the paparazzi in her neighborhood, caused by Hilton, Diaz spoke to Entertainment Tonight about the situation.
"She made her bad choices, she's going to have to deal with it, that's her journey…She just has to get plastered all over the world. There were 10 helicopters above her house, which I live not too far from. I was like, 'Could you please keep it down.' We all suffer when Paris suffers." Diaz said.
Cameron Diaz is not the only one who thinks Hilton should deal with the consequences. Heroes star, Hayden Panettiere had some advice for Paris, “Don’t drink and drive…or drive without a license.”
We can probably conclude that Cameron Diaz and Hayden Panettiere won’t be signing Hilton’s “Free Paris” Petition anytime soon.
