Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are BFF (Best Friends Forever) again. They ended their ongoing feud and are once again showing face all over town together. We have yet to really know why they ever stopped talking to begin with. They have both kepted mum on the subject but of course that didn't stop rumors from flying.
Hilton and Richie made their start by appearing all over the place at celebrity events including award shows, clubs, store openings, etc. They then became stars of their own hit show The Simple Life. During the first season the girls lived on a farm in Atlus, Arkansas and worked for a living. The show was a hit with adults ages 18-43. The girls had to leave behind their credit cards, cell phones, and celebrity status to see what it was like living in the "real world". Every job they had to experience they were ultimately fired from. They were taught how to milk cows, they worked at a Sonic drive thru, and even caused some damage to an employer's credit card.
In Season 2, subtitled Road Trip, the girls traveled across the United States in a pink pickup truck that towed a airstream trailer. They participated in catching crawfish, working as maids in a nudist resort, and even worked at a sausage factory. The premiere episode showcased Paris in a horse riding accident which created headlines as they were still filming. Of course it wouldn't be Paris and Nicole if they hadn't caused some trouble on this season as well, after all that is what creates good TV!
Season 3, titled Interns, followed Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie as they interned at various companies along the East Coast of the Unites States. They traveled via Greyhound along with the general public. This season featured one unforgettable encounter with twin baby orangutans from Parrot Jungle Island in Miami, FL. Nicole's fiance at the time, DJ AM, appeared in this season when he surpised Nicole and took her out on a date. They received little to no money several times throughout the season because they chose to goof off instead of being professional. At the finale, the two girls did not receive a homecoming party from their family and friends. Instead they were hounded by papparazzi. This was one of the last times the two were seen together as friends.
Season 4 was a little tougher to tape considering at this time the feud between the two was full blown. It was appropriately titled Till Death Do Us Part and captured the largest amount of viewers. Each of the girls played "wife" at seperate times to the same family. The family would decide which girl would be better for the role. They entire season was filmed in LA and featured families from that area. The episodes often featured information about Paris and Nicole's personal lives as well. Since the season was set in their home town the girls had cell phone and credit card usage. The finale ended by Paris and Nicole in a confrontation followed by a "to be continued".
Leaving us at Season 5. Rumor has it that the girls will be camp counselors this time around. Since they have rekindled their friendship, for now atleast, they will be filming their scenes together. The taping was set back due to Nicole's need to seek medical attention for her "weight issues". Hopefully the girls will be able to remain friends long enough to film the entire season. Because no one is really sure as to why they stopped being friends, it's hard to tell if it could happen again. Maybe this season will give us answers and closure on the situation. I guess we will have to tune in to find out.
