Popular celebrity blogger Perez Hilton is being sued by paparazzi photo agency X17 for copyright infringement to the tune of $7.6 million dollars. X17 is accusing Hilton of stealing several exclusive photo sets such as: "Pregnant Katie Holmes," "Kevin Federline Pumping Gas," "The New Slim Britney Spears," "Britney Spears Exposes Her Derriere," "Britney Spears Exposes Herself (Round 2)."
X17 co-owner Brandy Navarre, told the LA Times that the agency is suing Mario Lavandeira, the owner of http://www.perezhilton.com, because of his attitude. "We've had trouble with a lot of bloggers," she said. "But he's the biggest, and the most arrogant and pigheaded about it, frankly."
Hilton believes it is a public relations ploy to get traffic to the agency's new online blog x17online.com. That would be a brilliant strategy to get some eyeballs to their new website seeing that this story is currently being covered by all the tabloid websites.
Not all paparazzi are mad at Hilton though. TMZ.com is currently airing a video of a Flynet Pictures paparazzi telling the "Queen of All Media" that they "Love Perez Hilton" as he left a LA party. Flynet Pictures was one of seven agencies to send a cease and desist letter to Hilton, yet this one paparazzi still decided to give him a piece of jewelry on film and to praise his efforts for getting the industry noticed. Can we say "Good Job" Flynet Pictures. Now the world is talking about you too. Don't you just love the way this stuff works!
