Prince to play Super Bowl XLI Half Time ShowPrince was the chosen one this year.  CBS is trying to take caution this year considering the "wardrobe malfunction" that occurred during the 2004 game with Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's performance.  In 2005, Mick Jagger's microphone was silenced as he sang sexually suggestive lyrics in a couple of songs the Rolling Stones performed.  This is the third year in a row that a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame artist will perform at the Super Bowl halftime show airing on February 4th in Miami.

The Super Bowl is television highest rated show when it's aired.  Approximately 141 million watched last year game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks.  This year it's expected to be even higher and Prince, the six time Grammy award winner,  will be the one to keep the crowd hyped in between halves. Prince did begin his career expressing sexually explicit lyrics however has since toned down his songs.

Prince started his career in 1980 and skyrocketed to fame.  His music is made up of mainly R&B, rock, soul, and funk.  He has since released several albums that have resulted in him winning his six Grammy awards as well as having 5 more nominations this year.  He has been able to re-establish himself as a star with each decade.  He still sells out concerts!  Throughout the years, Prince has also had several name changes.  He is known as The Artist Formerly Known as Prince, Taftap, and The Artist.  Many agree that he is best known as just Prince.

Prince has redefined what it means to be a "superstar" and has helped pave the way for the younger talent we hear on every radio channel today.  He has influenced many to follow what they believe in and be who they are destined to be in the music industry and outside of it.  He has a large following which includes long time fans as well as new ones.  I think it's the perfect choice to have Prince play at the Super Bowl Halftime Show.  He is a positive force in the music world and will generate alot of positivity from the crowd both at the stadium and on television.  I can't wait to see him myself!
