It finally happened after all these months of waiting and waiting and waiting. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes tied the knot in a lavish, fairytale wedding in Italy. On November 18th they exchanged vows in a beautifully decorated 15th century castle in the lakeside town of Bracciano.
The evening cermony was performed by a Scientology minister in front of more then 150 family and friends. The wedding party included baby Suri, who was dressed in white and carried in her mother's arms, and Isabella and Connor, who are Tom's children from his first marriage to Nicole Kidman. The best man was Cruise's best friend, David Miscavige and the Matron of Honor was Katie's sister, Nancy Blaylock.

Katie wore an off the shoulder ivory silk gown designed especially for her by Giorgio Armani. She was escorted down the aisle by her father, Martin Holmes, and carried a beautiful bouquet of ivory calla lillies also made by Armani. Cruise wore a single breasted navy blue Armani-made suit with an ivory silk French collar shirt made with the same fabric as the bride's gown.
The end of the 20 minute cermony was sealed with a "never ending kiss" that prompted some of the guests to yell, "stop, stop". Some of the guests included Jim Carrey, Brooke Shield, Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, and Andrea Bocelli who seranaded the couple at the reception after he denied that fact to the media.
Security at the event was extremely tight. Paramilitary police patrolled the walls of the castle and any vehicles that were banned from the center of the town. They couldn't control the crowd of atleast 14,000 towns people though who gathered to try and get a glimpse of the bride and groom or atleast some of their famous guests.

This wedding was extravagant from the beginning and the day did not disappoint. The couple made sure that every penny spent on everything from the gifts to the bride's lingerie were mentioned by the media. They even mentioned exact details of what the lingerie will look like the night of the wedding. Since the confirmation of their relationship was annoucned to the world they have created quite the interest from fans and non-fans alike. Hopefully now that the wedding dubbed "wedding of the year" finally occurred we can expect to hear about the other important things going on in the country like Britney and Kevin's divorce and Reese and Ryan's. Or maybe that is just wishful thinking!
