by Thomas Jensen on Monday, October 16th, 2006

Who will win this season of Survivor Cook Islands?Survivor Cook Islands has created controversy even before its first episode aired due to its separation of tribes by ethnicity.  Now, well into the season, viewers are choosing their favorites to take home the title and the million dollar prize!

Adam Gentry is one of the front runners.  He grew up in Fredericksburg, VA and excelled in basketball.  He now resides in San Diego where he hopes to become a medical salesman.  He is on Tribe Raro where the men of the tribe are known to be workaholics.  One morning the women of Raro awoke to find a pile of firewood and massive amounts of seafood gathered by the men.

Born in South Korea, Becky Lee was eventually raised in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA.  She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in women’s studies.  She is on the Aitu Tribe.  She was witnessed in the most recent episode relaxing on a raft not doing any work.  This may soon hurt her during elimination rounds.

Brad Virata was born and raised in the small town of Oak Harbor, WA.  He is the youngest of 5 children and excelled at track, football, and volleyball during his teenaged years.  He has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Communications.  He was one of the men of the Raro Tribe to help gather heaps of wood and food.  However now that this tribe is out numbered by women, he will have to watch his back.

Candace Woodcock, a member of the Aitu Tribe, was born and raised in Fayetteville, NC.  She won full merit scholarships to college where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in biology and psychology and minored in chemistry.  She joined Becky on the raft and along with Becky is potentially headed into elimination due to her lack of effort.

Cao Boi, pronounced “Cowboy”, was born in Vietnam.  Eventually he re-located to Virginia where he gained a lot of experience working in several fields.  He is married and has two children back home along with a dog and two cats.  He is amongst the Aitu Tribe and was one of the people who caught a few from his tribe lounging around.  He has thus far, contributed immensely to the survival of the tribe and isn’t planning on going anywhere, anytime soon.

Christina Coria is from Santa Monica, CA.  She grew up in a family of police officers and so it was inevitable that she would become one herself.  She is a member of the Raro Tribe and needs to step it up and help the guys or she may be on the chopping block soon enough.

Born in Chicago, Jenny Guzon-Bae is a member of the Raro Tribe also.  She is a natural tom-boy and would also find herself getting down and dirty with the guys playing football and several other sports.  She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism.  So far in the game she has laid low and is on the tribe where the women are outnumbering the men so we may just see her r=around for quite sometime.

Palo Cedro, CA is where Jessica Smith grew up and graduated.  She became a performance artist and designer.  She is also known as “Flica Flame” on an undefeated Northern CA Roller Derby Team where she was the captain.  She is a member of the Aitu Tribe.  She found a right hand man in Cao Boi and the two may just have each other’s back until the end.

A native of New York, Jonathan Penner is an actor, having regular roles on “Grapevine”, “Naked Truth”, and “Rude Awakening”.  He enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, soccer, and baseball.  He is also a member of the Aitu Tribe and is lying low having so far not receiving any votes on elimination night.

Another member of the Raro Tribe, Nathan Gonzalez was born in Staten Island, NY.  In college he majored in theater however is working as a shoe salesman for a major department store.  Although he hasn’t really proven himself yet, he is flying under the radar so far.

Ozzy Lusth was born in Mexico but moved 10 times in his teen years to 7 U.S. States and Central America.  He enjoys reading, writing, and surfing.  He is on the Aitu Tribe and so far hasn’t ruffled any feathers.

Another female member of the Raro Tribe, Parvati Shallow grew up in Vero Beach, Fl as the eldest of 3 children.  She studied martial arts since she was younger and performs as a female boxer.  Parvati is maintaining her position on the tribe and so far hasn’t received one vote in eliminations.

Raro may soon only consist of women.  Rebecca Borman was born in NY and is a member of the tribe.  She has been a make-up artist for 15 years and even received an Emmy for outstanding make-up on a daytime talk show, The View for her work.  She still works there doing make-up for former Survivor, Elizabeth Hasselback.  She is teaming up with the rest of the women on her tribe and possibly eliminating the men first.

A first generation American, Sundra Oakley was born in Queens, NY to Jamaican parents.  She is a member of the Aitu Tribe and is pursuing an acting career.  She has been seen on CSI: Miami, Storng Medicine, and Sex and the City.  It’s hard to say whether she can make it to the end but so far she hasn’t been noticed.

Last but not least, Yul Kwon was born in Queens, NY to parents who emigrated from South Korea.  He graduated as valedictorian but also enjoys water polo and track.  He is a member of the Aitu Tribe and has also laid low.  It’s hard to say at this point who will win this new season but everyone has their favorites!
