Paris Hilton may find herself back behind bars tomorrow. Just hours after leaving the Century Regional Detention Center, where she was sent home to be placed on house arrest, Hilton was ordered to report to court at 9 a.m. Friday morning.
The Los Angeles city attorney filed a petition Thursday afternoon questioning Sheriff Lee Baca’s decision to release Paris Hilton. Superior Judge Michael T. Sauer, the same judge who sentenced Hilton to 45 days in jail, ordered Hilton to return to court Friday morning to determine whether she should be put back behind bars.
Paris Hilton was sent home shortly after 2 a.m. on Thursday for an unspecified medical condition. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department was unable to answer any questions regarding the medical reasons due to privacy laws. However, spokesman Steve Whitmore did say it was not a staph infection.
Hilton managed to serve a total of 72 hours in jail, but somehow she was credited with 5 days. Bodog.com had odds of 3/1 that Paris Hilton would spend 3-7 nights in jail.
Paris released the following statement on Thursday after her early release:
"I want to thank the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and staff of the Century Regional Detention Center for treating me fairly and professionally. I am going to serve the remaining 40 days of my sentence. I have learned a great deal from this ordeal and hope that others have learned from my mistakes."
Hilton will be back in court Friday where she will be fighting to stay on house arrest for the next 40 days.
