 Is Sanjaya Malakar ruining American Idol? The hoopla surrounding this 17-year-old is ridiculous and funny at the same time. All American Idol addicts that hate Sanjaya have their panties up in bunch because he has managed to safely escape elimination each week. Bookmaker.com has odds at +850 that Sanjaya Malakar will get eliminated this week on American Idol 6. After last week’s show, when Gina Glocksen was voted off, a frustrated Idol fan started the website VoteAgainstTheWorst.com. The site’s main goal is to eliminate Sanjaya Malakar by placing additional votes for the other remaining contestants: “I'm tired of sites like "VoteFORtheWorst" that encourage people to vote for the bad contestants just to be amusing. So, I thought I'd start my own site. My site will encourage people to vote AGAINST the bad people by voting FOR all of the others! If we can spread the word to organize our voting, we just might be able to make this American Idol results show filled with a little more integrity. Imagine the joy you'll feel knowing that the right people are going home each week!” The campaign is a direct response to VoteForTheWorst.com, a website that encourages people to vote for the worst contestants. Howard Stern is leading his own campaign, encouraging his listeners to vote for Sanjaya Malakar. American Idol’s Executive Producer Ken Warwick told TV Week he wasn't worried about organized voting campaigns, such as VoteForTheWorst.com and Howard Stern. "Even if every single person who listened to Howard Stern voted ... there is very little hype anybody can do that would affect the vast number of votes that we get." Simon Cowell said he would leave the show forever if Sanjaya wins. This comment may prompt people to vote for Sanjaya Malakar because so many people hate Simon Cowell! I don’t think Sanjaya Malakar is going away anytime soon. Despite the amount of people that hate him, he really has a ton of people on his side. The Top 8 will perform tonight on FOX at 8:00 PM EST. Jennifer Lopez will be mentoring the contestants this week. Bookmaker.com has posted betting odds on who will be eliminated this week on American Idol 6?
