On offense the Cowboys QB Tony Romo has drastically improved during their last three games of the season. Romo is taking few gambles with his throws, and ball security has been a big reason for Dallas' late-season success. He’s thrown just five interceptions in his last ten games and has made 22 TD passes. Overall he’s thrown for 4,483 yards with 26 TD passes for a 97.6 passer rating. His O-line is giving him time to throw to his reliable receivers and their running game is moving the chains. He relies heavily on TE Jason Witten and No. 1 WR Miles Austin, while RB Marion Barber pounds his way down field. They currently have the second best offense in the league , averaging almost 400 total yards a game. They have the sixth best passing game, led by WR Miles Austin’s 1320 yards receiving and 11 TD’s. They have the seventh best ground game, led by RB Marion Barber’s 932 yards rushing and seven TD’s. Their offense is averaging 22.6ppg overall and at home they allow an average 24.9ppg.

On defense the Cowboys are as solid as ever. Dallas is making life troublesome for opposing quarterbacks with Jay Ratliff, Anthony Spencer and DeMarcus Ware living in the backfield. Between Ware and Spencer, they have a combined 17.5 sacks with 95 tackles. In their last two games their defense has won without giving up a single point. They have the ninth best defense in the league that allows the second least amount of points per-game (15.6). They are ranked 20th against the pass and are the fourth best team at stopping the rush. Their defense is allowing 15.6ppg overall and they allow an average 13.9ppg at home.

Their field goal kicking has struggled and GM Jerry Jones has dealt with it by releasing struggling Nicholas Folk and signing Shaun Suisham from the Washington Redskins. He’s played two games for the Cowboys making two of three, and for the Redskins he made 18 of 21. With a game that could come down to a late field goal, he’ll have to be at his best.
