The Colts offense with QB Peyton Manning and his ability to read opponents defense will be feared throughout the playoffs. He’s been here before and knows how to getter done under pressure. The Colts have the ninth best offense in the league that scores the seventh most points per-game (26ppg) , thanks to Peyton Manning’s 4,500 yards passing and 33 TD passes. He is susceptible to throwing interceptions having thrown 16 in the regular season; he’s thrown five in their last four games. Regardless, the Colts have the league’s second best pass game thanks to top WR Reggie Wayne’s 1,246 yards receiving and 10 TD’s. Manning has multiple game-breakers in Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark, Pierre Garcon and Austin Collie. His offensive line has overcome injuries to remain mostly solid; they are doing great at protecting their captain. The five above mentioned receivers have a combined 31 TD’s. If the Colts have a weakness on offense it’s their league worst running game that averages a paltry 80 yards a game. RB Joseph Addai leads their ground game with 839 yards rushing and he’s their TD leader with 13. The Colts had several wobbly games on the way to 14-0 and simply haven't looked as consistently dominant as their AFC competitors, the Chargers. But we’re talking about Peyton Manning here!

On defense they are small, but they have defensive coordinator Larry Coyer working them hard while being aggressive. Their overall defense is ranked 18th overall while allowing the eight least amount of points per-game (19.2) . Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis form one of the better end duos in the league, combined they have 20 sacks and 44 tackles. Linebackers Gary Brackett and Clint Session are talented playmakers who usually can be found in the vicinity of the football causing forced fumbles. Safeties Melvin Bullitt and Antoine Bethea also do a nice job in run support. The Colts are ranked 14th against the pass and will have to step it up against some off the higher powered pass teams, like the Chargers. They also struggle against the rush with a 25th ranked rush defense, but on a good note running the ball doesn’t win titles.

The Colts have the seventh best field goal maker in the league. Matt Stover has made nine of 11 in 10 games, while Adam Vinatieri has made seven of nine in six. With the arm of Manning and their talented receiving core, they don’t need to make field goals a lot, but it helps to know they have your back.
