It’s down to the final four in the NFC Conference, the Giants, Panthers, Cardinals and Eagles have all made it. The Giants ended their regular season on a bad note going 1-4 SU averaging 18.75 ppg and allowing an average 22 ppg. They face the Eagles, who they’ve met twice this season; whoever is the visitor has gone on to win! They’ll rely on their 7-1 SU home record where they average 28.5 ppg and give up an average 15.6 ppg. They’ll look to utilize their first ranked running game that averages 157 yards, thanks to RB Brandon Jacobs who leads the Giants with 15 touchdowns and 1,089 rushing yards. He is listed as day to day for Eagles tilt. They boast the fifth best defense in the league along with an eighth ranked pass defense and ninth ranked rush defense. They are 6-2 ATS at home and 4-3-1 over/under. The NY Giants are listed as +125 moneyline favorites to win the 2009 NFC Conference.

The Panthers will put their perfect 8-0 SU home record on the line, against a weak Cardinals crew this week. They are averaging 29.2 ppg at home and they give up an average 13.9 ppg. The Panthers aren’t known for their defense, ranked 19th, but rather their running game. They average 152 rushing yards for a third ranked running game. RB DeAngelo Williams leads the Panthers with 20 touchdowns and 1,515 combined rushing and receiving yards. Against the Cards they’ll have to watch their pass defense that gives up a 16th ranked 212 yards a game. They are 5-2-1 ATS at home and 3-5 over/under. The Panthers are listed at +160 to win the 2009 NFC Conference.

The Eagles got past the Vikings 26-14 on the road last week. They only had 67 rushing yards but QB Donovan McNabb threw for 283 yards with one touchdown pass. The Eagles are 4-4 SU on the road where they’ve averaged 21.3 ppg and they’ve given up an average 20.6 ppg. They’ll rely on their sixth ranked passing game that puts up the sixth most points per game than any other team. On top of that they’ll utilize their third ranked defense, their third ranked pass defense and their fourth ranked rush defense. They allow the fourth least amount of points per game. The Eagles are 4-4 ATS on the road and 4-4 over/under. The Eagles are listed at +300 to win the 2009 NFC Conference.

The Cardinals beat the Falcons 30-24 at home last week, they ran for 86 yards and QB Kurt Warner threw for 271 yards with two touchdown passes. They are under .500 on the road with a 3-5 SU record, they average 23.1 ppg on the road and give up an average 31 ppg. The only thing going for the Cards is their fourth ranked offense and second ranked passing game. WR Larry Fitzgerald leads the Cards with 12 touchdowns. Their defense is crap ranked 18th. They have RB Anquan Boldin listed as day to day. The Cards are 4-4 ATS on the road and 4-4 over/under. The Cardinals are listed at +1200 to win the 2009 NFC Conference.

The Bottom Line: The Giants are a sketchy bet after going 1-4 SU, but their home record might change your mind.  Definitely not the Cardinals! If the Eagles get past the Giants I like them to win the NFC.  Be sure to get your 2009 NFC Conference Betting Odds in now at Sportsbook.com and receive a 10% sign-up bonus on your initial deposit!
