The Bengals WR Chad OchoCinco saw limited play time during their final regular season game after he landed hard on his left knee when he slipped during pregame warm-ups. He limped off the field but started the game, then watched the second half from the sideline to protect the knee. He is a crucial element in the Bengals 26th ranked pass game, he leads their receiving core with 1,047 yards receiving and is their top scorer with nine TD’s. He has four TD’s in five games and was shutout by the Jets last week. The Bengals offense is ranked 24th overall while they average the 22nd most points per-game (19.1ppg) . QB Carson Palmer has thrown for 3,094 yards and 23 TD’s, but has put up 13 interceptions including three in their last four games. He and his recievers must be at their best if they want any chance of going far in the playoffs. They mostly rely on their ninth ranked running game, led by RB Cedric Benson’s 1,251 yards rushing and six TD’s, but has been held scoreless since injuring himself in week 9. They will need to be a one two punch team to go far into the playoffs, their pass game started the season good but has slipped, while their running game remains consistent.

On defense is where the Bengals excel, but has recently struggled, and is the reason why they’ve made the playoffs. Their overall defense is ranked fourth best in the league while allowing the sixth least amount of points per-game (18.2ppg) . Against the pass they are ranked sixth best thanks to sack leader DE Jonathan Fanene with 5.5 sacks. They have two of the best deep threat preventers in the league; CB’s Leon Hall and Jonathan Joseph each have six interceptions. They are ranked seventh against the rush thanks to top DE Dhani Jones 74 tackles. We all know defense wins playoff games and their defense is going to have to work overtime to go far in the playoffs.

They have a 19th ranked kicker in Shayne Graham who has made 23 of 28 field goals. He struggled at the start of the season but has made 11 of 11 since week 12. He must remain on the ball in case the Bengals offense can’t score.
