Green Bay Packers vs Arizona Cardinals 2010 NFC Wild Card Game Picks

The Arizona Cardinals host the Green Bay Packers, Sunday Jan 10, as the Packers look to win big again in Arizona. The Packers have won their last three meetings. NFL oddsmakers at SPORTSBOOK.com have the Packers as –1 point road favs over the Cardinals with the over/under set at 47.5 points . The Packers (11-5) won their final game in Arizona 33-7. QB Aaron Rodgers made 21 of 26 passes for 235 yards with one TD pass and a rushing TD. RB Ryan Grant had 11 carries for 51 yards with a TD, while WR Donald Driver made six catches for 65 yards. TE Jermichael Finely added a TD. QB Aaron Rodgers has put together one of the most overlooked seasons of any quarterback. His O-line is protecting him well and he’s finding more time to find his receivers. WR’s Greg Jennings and Donald Driver both have more than 1,000 yards this season, and have a combined 10 TD’s. Driver's consistency has been remarkable, and he's been more of a touchdown target (six) than Jennings (four). TE Jermichael Finley is tough to cover in any situation and he looks to build on his five TD’s. The Packers seventh ranked pass game will be all over the Cardinals 24th ranked pass defense . RB Ryan Grant rushed for 1,253 yards in less than spectacular fashion, surpassing the 100-yard mark just three times. However, he could be more dangerous now because he didn't take much wear and tear and seems to be getting stronger as a result. He leads the Packers with 11 TD’s. Their 15th ranked ground game goes against the Cardsvc17th ranked rush defense.

The Cardinals (10-6) have to figure out the Packers after getting beat down last week. QB Kurt Warner saw little play time making four of six passes, while backup QB Matt Leinart made 13 of 21 for 96 yards. RB Timothy Hightower had six carries for 24 yards, while WR Larry Fitzgerald added a TD. Qb Kurt Warner knows how to play this time of year, he also plays his best when the stakes are higher. He has just three interceptions in his last eight games, which is important vs. an opportunistic defense like Green Bay's. The Cardinals 14th ranked offense will butt heads against the Packers second ranked defense that allows the seventh least amount of points per-game (18.6ppg). RB’s Tim Hightower and Beanie Wells form a powerful tandem that will have to work hard against the NFL's top run defense . The Cardinals are a pass-first team, but Hightower and Wells have been effective when Arizona gets near the goal line. The Cards have an 11th ranked pass game and 29th ranked running game. WR’s Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin surpassed 1,000 yards apiece and have a combined 18 TD’s. Boldin suffered a left ankle injury against the Packers last week and is iffy. If he can't play, that is a major blow. Steve Breaston is a nice third option with 712 yards receiving and three TD’s.
