The Cardinals beat the Packers in a record setting game last week, winning 51-45 (OT) at home. QB Kurt Warner put on a near perfect performance last week making 29 of 33 passes for 379 yards with five TD’s. Warner's 154.1 passer rating is the second highest in playoff history. His 87.9% completion rate is third highest in playoff history. QB Kurt Warner's five TD’s are tied for third most in playoff history and this was the second time he’s thrown five TD’s in the playoffs . Warner threw more touchdowns than incompletions (four). WR Larry Fitzgerald had a huge game making six catches for 82 yards with two TD’s, while WR Steve Breaston made seven for 125 with a TD. In five career playoff games, WR Larry Fitzgerald has 36 catches for 628 yards and nine TD’s. No matter who he has played in the postseason, nobody has been able to stop him, or even slowing him down. Kurt Warner and his 11th ranked pass game goes up against a Saints 26th ranked pass defense. The big reason for the success on offense is the Cardinals' passing attack is too confounding to cover . Their receivers' ability to make yards after the catch is huge because it forces defenses to never relent. During the regular season the Cardinals lacked in the running department, but RB Beanie Wells had a great game last week. He had 14 carries for 91 yards. RB Beanie Wells leads their 29th ranked ground game with 884 yards rushing and seven TD’s; he’s also capable of catching the ball with 143 yards receiving. The Cardinals finished the regular season 6-2 SU on the road where they averaged 25.1ppg and allowed 17.4ppg. Arizona is trying to become the first NFC team to win consecutive conference titles since the Packers did it in 1997-98.

On defense they failed to stop the pass, but they put pressure on the Packers offense. What has made these Cardinals potentially more dangerous is that they get after opposing quarterbacks. The Cardinals scored 20 points off three Green Bay turnovers, and they managed five sacks on Packers QB Rodgers after they gave up just nine sacks in their previous seven games. The Cardinals 29th ranked pass defense is going to have to be better as they head deeper into the playoffs against higher powered pass teams. They are sound at nearly every defensive position and have the most physically imposing safeties in the NFL , giving inside receivers pause about being too cavalier across the middle. The Cardinals overall defense is ranked 20th overall while allowing the 14th least amount of points per-game (20.3ppg). Sack leaders Clarck Higgins, Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell have a combined 17.5 sacks on the regular season are were a big part of the Cards Super Bowl run last year. They are ranked 23rd against the pass and 17th against the rush.

The Cardinals next opponent is the New Orleans Saints, on the road.
